The Umhlanga Promenade holds a special place in my idea of home. Growing up in Durban, it has always been more than just a stretch of coastline. It’s where I go to move, think, and reset, a familiar path shaped by ocean air, early morning light, and the rhythm of people walking, running, and simply being by the sea.
Including the promenade in this collection is my way of honouring a space that reflects the spirit of Durban and the quiet rituals that make a place feel like home. For me, the Umhlanga Promenade is not just a landmark, it’s a lived experience, a reminder that home is often found in the simple places we return to again and again.
